Driver + Material Handler

 

Essential Duties

The Driver/Material Handler primarily works in shipping, transportation and material transfers of all kinds.

1. Drive all agency vehicles in a safe manner to transport materials to and from subcontract customers.

2. Assist the shipping department in the preparation of materials for shipment by vehicle.

3. Perform any duties assigned by the Operations Manager, Production Manager, or other appropriate supervisory personnel of a general work nature.

4. Perform other transportation tasks as assigned by the Shipping Supervisor, Production Manager, or Operations Manager.

5. Move materials from the shipping docks or warehouse to the workshop areas using forklifts or hand trucks.

6. Attend meetings called by the Production or Operations Manager, Director of Operations or the President/CEO.

7. Ensure that all company vehicles are accounted for and parked inside at end of workday.

8. Able to fill in workshops for production by setting up materials to run job.

9. Maintain workshops supplied with running product not to create downtime

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to lift, carry and/or move up to 40 lbs. Must be able to climb steps, balance, kneel, squat or crawl to complete his/her duties. Reasonable accommodations will be made for individuals with disabilities to perform his/her essential job duties. Ability to stand for up to 3 hours at a time. Ability to have vision sufficient enough to inspect work products for quality purposes, identify pallet cartons per layer, and the number of layers per pallet.
