Production Manager
Requirements: Must have High school diploma or GED equivalent; some college preferred. New Jersey Driver’s license must be valid and good driving record.Five years industrial experience (in supervisory position – two years minimum). Read, write and communicate on a high school level. Perform accurate high school level math, counting and business math computations including but not limited hourly wage rate calculations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
1. Possesses a complete understanding of the production processes and operations performed within the scope of the Center.
2. Knows the scope and purpose of the Workshop Operations and what performance is expected of each workshop. Uses this knowledge to intelligently plan work and instruct and direct workshop personnel.
3. Performs work assigned at the lowest possible cost compatible with work schedules, urgency of need and the availability of manpower, materials and machines.
4. Is accountable for all materials and supplies distributed to the Operations department and protects and preserves same from harm, theft, damage, misuse or waste.
5. Assists the Business Development & Salesforce Specialist in cost estimating of work, verification of maintenance of equipment, quality control, production reports, and/or coordination of workflow according to need and assignment.
6. Reads and understands the job specifications required and determines the workshop most capable of doing the job correctly and efficiently.
7. Consistently sets up workshop with all the required parts and instructs the workshop supervisor as to exactly what has to be done step by step to get the best quality and production rate.
8. Regularly checks all parts needed for the job before job is put in the workshop to ensure we have the correct parts and sufficient quantities of each.
9. When job is completed, correctly marks all skids with required markings so they can be easily identified.
10. Plans ahead for next job that will go into the workshops so we have minimum down time when changeover is required from completed job to new job.
11. Monitors jobs currently in production and ensures the jobs are being produced correctly according to job specification outlines and quality standards.
12. Consistently walks the floor to ensure that it is free and clear of debris that could potentially cause harm to others and/or become an obstacle.
13. Monitors production, communicates with Business Development & Salesforce Specialist, Coordinator and Operations Manager if part shortages are anticipated or part quality changes during production to reduce down time, quality issues, line interruptions. Triggers customer communication.
14. Monitor maintenance man, warehouse staff, drivers, workshop staff and participants in performing good housekeeping practices in their specific areas, thus ensuring that the facility is kept clean, safe and running at its optimum efficiency.
15. Answers calls from customer when questions arise regarding production, parts needed, or quality questions.
16. Operates a Forklift when forklift operators are out or we are shorthanded.
17. Moves company vehicles, including trucks, on an as needed basis when normal personnel are not available.
18. Continuously evaluates jobs in Workshop for ways to enhance efficiency, quality and profitability.
19. Ensures that materials, machines, equipment and facilities within the scope of responsibility are properly utilized and kept up to standard through timely maintenance and good housekeeping.
